Physics Courses Offered
Physics 1-2: No change; this class is open to all students except freshmen. Student should take Biology 1-2 and Algebra 1-2 before taking physics. This is a broad investigation of physics and covers motion, forces, energy, electricity, waves, sound, and light. Emphasis on developing conceptual understanding of the basic laws of physics. Some math involved.
AP Physics 1-2: This will replace Honors Physics 1-2. Curriculum covers Motion, Forces, and Energy with emphasis on critical thinking and is math intensive, but not calculus based.
AP Physics 3-4: This will replace AP Physics B course. Curriculum covers Electricity, Magnetism, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, and Atomic/Nuclear Physics. Not calculus based.
